Dermapen® FAQs
While most healthy adults are good candidates for the Dermapen® procedure, you may not be a suitable candidate if you have a weakened immune system, conditions that affect your skin like eczema or diabetes, or if you have a clotting or bleeding disorder. Your GOLDnGLO practitioner can answer any additional questions or concerns regarding your overall health before treatment.
Depending on your skin’s condition and desired results, your GOLDnGLO practitioner will help you decide how many Dermapen® microneedling treatments are right for you. As a general guideline, you should plan for at least 3-4 treatments spaced out every 4-6 weeks. You will likely begin to notice some immediate improvements about a month after your initial treatment of Dermapen® microneedling, with full results visible about one month after your final treatment in the series.
While it is most commonly associated with facial treatments, Dermapen® can address skin concerns on other parts of the body as well. These areas include the neck and décolletage, hands, abdomen, legs, and back.
The level of discomfort experienced during Dermapen® microneedling can vary, depending on the person. Some people describe the sensation as mild stinging or pricking, while others simply find it uncomfortable.
You can return to work or school immediately following your Dermapen® microneedling treatment; however, avoid applying makeup for 24 hours after treatment. For the first week following treatment, you should minimize excessive exercise, sweating, swimming, or exposing skin to heat and sun.
