Juvéderm® FAQs
Most adults are good candidates for Juvéderm®. But if you have a history of severe allergic reactions, are allergic to lidocaine or gram-positive bacterial proteins, or if you have an infection at the planned injection site, you may not be a suitable candidate.
Most patients only need one treatment (per area) to achieve results. We recommend long-term, yearly follow-up treatments to maintain the most consistent results.
Most people generally consider Juvéderm® treatments to cause minimal discomfort. Juvéderm® injectables labeled “XC” contain lidocaine to help manage pain or discomfort during the injection, and your provider can apply a topical numbing cream to help further minimize discomfort if you wish.
Minimal downtime should be expected for most people after a Juvéderm® treatment, but we do advise you to limit exercise, sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment.
